Dawn

Dawn (14-05-97)

In the beginning – Father, Son and Spirit, Three

In the beginning – Father, Son and Spirit, free.

At the fall – Father, Son and Spirit at the tree

The Three pierced at the start of history.

Out of the two lands, by the hand of the Mighty

Father, Son and Spirit dividing the sea.

At the dawn of the day is the birdsong

At the dawn of life there is freshness

But the way things go, it falls away

Like the rush hour traffic that covers the song.

At the dawn of the day is the birdsong

At the dawn of new life is a purity

Let not the church cause it to fall away

In the politics of doctrine, smothering the angels’ song

Out of the injustice and pain of Calvary

Comes the joining of justice and liberty

Redemption – Father, Son and Spirit at the tree

Bursting power from the grave towards me.

At the end, Father, Son and Spirit, the Three

At the end, Father, Son, Spirit and saints, many.
